Dao Sword - 刀
A dao sword is a single edged sword of Chinese origin that first surfaced during China’s Bronze Age. It is generally used in fighting techniques that require a lot of chopping and slashing. Often compared to a Chinese sabre, it has a slightly wider blade and is more accurately described as a Chinese broadsword. In ancient China, one of these swords was considered one of the four essential traditional weapons. The other three consisted of a stick or staff (gùn), a spear (qiang), and double edged sword (jian).
At Spartan Blades Club, our Chinese dao swords are completely authentic and functional. When you choose a sword from our collection, you receive a recreated piece of history that celebrates ancient swordsmithing techniques as well as the might of the Chinese soldier.
