Born in 1981 in Ningxiang, Hunan Province, Yi Xuewen graduated from the Fine Arts major of Hunan Vocational College of Art.

His path in the art of sword making took a significant turn in early 2006 when he became the disciple of the esteemed Mr. Zhou Zhengwu(周正武). Mr. Zhou is an international master of sword casting, a master of traditional Chinese crafts, the driving force behind the revival of traditional Chinese handmade swords and knives in modern times, and the inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage - Longquan Sword Forging Technique(龍泉寶劍鍛制技藝). Yi Xuewen, as the eldest disciple, embarked on a journey of learning. He started from the fundamentals of smelting and forging, devoting himself to mastering the various techniques of traditional Chinese sword and knife forging. Over the years, he has also been innovative, combining modern science and technology with aesthetics to develop unique sword manufacturing techniques.
